There are many ways to speak with society about the dangers of trafficking in human beings, the risks, and prevention. In 2018 organization “Shelter “Safe House” organized the social activity “Skaistiem vārdiem noticēja…” or “She believed in beautiful words…” intending to speak with society about the reality of trafficking in human beings. Within this social activity, “Shelter “Safe House” reached out to authors, musicians, and other well-known creative artists in Latvia to make a song and video, relatable to the issue. First came the poem or lyrics by Eva Mārtuža, then came the music by Uldis Timma, and then Aiga Dzennoleto created and produced the video clip to the song “Girl is drawing her dream”. The song aimed to reach out to all the members of society, especially those who are trying to find their happiness abroad and very often are exposed to the dangers of different trafficking in human beings forms.
The song is in Latvian and speaks about a girl, who lives in Latvia. She meets a guy on the internet, believes his promises, and decides to leave Latvia and follow her dream world filled with love and happiness. Her hopes and dreams are destroyed when she is exposed to human trafficking, she comes back to Latvia and with the needed support tries to rebuild herself.
Even though, the lyrics are in Latvian, the video is very emotional, speaks with no words needed, and is relatable, especially to those specialists who work with women survivors.
